The Watton-at-Stone Carpet Bowls Club was founded in April 1986, with a carpet hired from the Association. From there, the club then went from strength to strength and now owns 2 complete sets of mats and bowls.

At its peak, the club met on Tuesday evenings and again on Wednesday afternoons, and played in the Hertfordshire Evening League for several years until new rules required an increase in the size of the team from 8 to 12.

Nowadays, the club meets in the War Memorial Hall at 1430 on Wednesday afternoons only. However, if anyone wanted to start-up an evening session of carpet bowls, they would get the full support of the club and use of its equipment.

New members are always very welcome, so if you want to know more about the Carpet Bowls Club, please contact Tony Evens on 01920 423596.
